Partly a very good period adventure movie that puts the viewer through changes but includes dribs of wanton silliness: Transposition to WWII of the Cowboys and Indians approach to drama wherein a Good Guy shoots a gun in the air and two…

The 1961 World War II adventure is still a highly entertaining, solid blend of drama and action. The director, J. Lee Thompson, speaking on the commentary track, says that if he were making the film today he would quicken the pace in a…

Everyone's outstanding in this epic tale, the only criticism I have is that it could have been a little tighter in production (a little more dialogue and less waves!). All in all a good movie with an edge-of-your-seat ending!
