Single mom Annie Hillman has been coping with trouble for so long, she's just getting through the days, when the local newspaper carries an ad featuring a picture of a young Annie on the front page, with an earnest message of love and regret from an unknown admirer. The paper's editor refuses to name names, but the ads continue to appear. And when the story breaks, Annie finds herself in the national spotlight. Now, for the first time in years, Annie is beginning to see that joy might be possible even in the midst of hard times-and that the life she's led, along with the people she's loved, might still show her the way.

The narrative had a tendency to skip around quite a lot in terms of timeline and it was occasionally unclear *when* the narrative was until a paragraph or two into the new flashback. This annoyed me enough that it started interfering with my enjoyment of the book. I likely would have enjoyed reading the book more if the Kindle ebook version didn't also contain some fairly terrible formatting issues including wrong italics (which the author uses for characters' thoughts but sometimes got mixed up with overall narration), half doubled-up sentences at times, and word placement errors.

Overall, the story was decent, though not super compelling. The ending was a chunk more cheesy than I had hoped it would be, but oh well. Not a terrible book, but not something I'm likely to reread.

A wonderful book, especially for mom's with teen boys. Very heartfelt storyline :D
