Meh. Great writing, but not a stellar mystery.
Not quite as good as And Then There Were None, but A Pocket Full Of Rye was still a good mystery novel. The setup was good, although I didn't find the ending that satisfying. My only real complaint is that for it has Miss Marple's name on it, so I was expecting her to be a main character. She doesn't appear until nearly halfway though, and then she's only a supporting character to Inspector Neele, the real main character. Overall it was a good book. I'ts worth reading if you enjoy mystery stories.
I don't remember reading this book before, and I was so caught up in the story that I forgot to pay attention to who was the least likely culprit, who, in her books, is always the one "whodunnit". I like to see how early in the story I can figure it out. And instead, I enjoyed the whole story and was surprised at the end.
