From Pearl Harbor to panzers rolling through Paris to the Siege of Leningrad and the Battle of Midway, war seethed across the planet as the flames of destruction rose higher and hotter.
And then, suddenly, the real enemy came.
The invaders seemed unstoppable, their technology far beyond human reach. And never before had men been more divided. For Jew to unite with Nazi, American with Japanese, and Russian with German was unthinkable.
But the alternative was even worse.
As the fate of the world hung in the balance, slowly, painfully, humankind took up the shocking challenge . . .

In the Balance ---- Book 1 ---- by Harry Turtledove c – 1995 ---- Sci-Fi/Humor ---- Earth is attacked by an Alien Race, Lizards! That want everything our world has to offer, including handy slaves/Humans. Those lizards checked out earth when Knights where throwing spears, lancing each other and shooting arrows. By the time the invading Lizards returned with the fleet of spaceships World War II was in full swing. It also is true that those little lizards become addicted to a spice named "Ginger" and become useless. Then of course there is the A-Bomb: Added to/in with all the dysfunctional stoned lizards whom can no longer follow a command A fun and very funny read. ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul ( This is what happens when someone else transfers your reviews: all four books have the same review. )
