"Sheik Yerbouti " is one of Frank Zappa's "must listen to" albums, if even only half the songs are catchy, witty, comedic rock songs. The other half are jams you expect from him, steeped in jazz guitar. Only diehard fans will be able to tell the difference I guess between the jazzy recordings?
I get bored after a few songs of that style, so am glad Frank mixed in what he might have considered "pop" songs he wrote.
Since the first time I heard it, will always laugh at the screamed singing of "I'm So Cute", as I imagine it is Rowdy Roddy Piper having a tantrum!
Other highlights - Broken hearts are for assholes , Bobby Brown goes down, City of tiny lites , Dancin' fool , and Jewish princess.
This album is not politically correct. Thank gawd.
