This fascinating look into the life and times of Princess Margaret was eye opening. This conflicted princess had one foot in the party scene and the other relishing her status as princess and sister to the Queen. Her closest friends had to call her ma'am, how interesting!!!

It occurred to me that it was her personality that made her a poor fit for the Royal Family. Those in the family who do their "duty" have an easier ride in the press than the black sheep. Harry is a case in point...the press just waited to see what controversial thing he would do next when he was younger. He, Diana, Fergie and Margaret always made for exciting news.

Well, I'll tell you one thing for certain - When it comes to being a modern-day princess (in the 20th century) - Margaret Windsor's life was certainly no fairy-tale come true.

And, you can be sure - With Margaret being Queen Elizabeth's younger sister, this lower position definitely played a significant part in this princess's apparent "rebelliousness".

This 2-hour bio-documentary takes a close-up look at the life and times of Princess Margaret who was frequently the center of attention in the Royal family's drama where glamour, excitement, and, yes, controversy were quite often the name of the game.

(*Note*) - In 2002 - Margaret Windsor (71 at the time) died of cancer.

When it comes to the U.K's royal family line-up from yesteryear (20th century) - Was Princess Margaret really considered to be the black sheep of this regal and stately clan of British aristocracy?

Well, for you to find out the answer to that question you'll just have to watch this insightful bio-documentary where there's certainly a lot more to know about Margaret than just meets the eye.

Through stills, archival footage, and interviews (with biographers and friends) - This well-produced presentation from the PBS Network gives the ever-inquisitive viewer the inside story concerning the ups and downs of being Margaret, a modern-day princess in an old-school monarchy.

Engrossing, especially if you enjoy documentaries about the royal family.
Yes, she was a pampered princess but there are some intriguing things about her life that make this movie more than interesting. Recommend also reading the recent book, "99 Glimpses of Princess Margaret" which is an unconventional biography format, quite fitting for an unconventional princess.
