Jugglers of Worlds --- by Larry Niven and Edward M Lernert. Even with two authors, this is the best they could come up with? I’ve read a lot of science fiction in my time, some of it juvenile and some of it much less so but Jugglers seems to miss the mark on all accounts. My main complaint is that there’s no plot. Sorry, excuse me. The plot moves at glacial speed. After 100 pages into this novel, I’m still waiting. I’m waiting for something to happen. Science fiction used to be about adventure. It used to be about action. It used to be about suspense. Nope. None of these here. Thank goodness nobody had the temerity to suggest that this novel was in the same league of anything by Heinlein. Disappointing.

Interesting prequel to the Ringworld series... First of the Fleet of Worlds series.

It.s a gripping yarn and, while not Niven's best, far better than most of the competition on the SF shelf.

Retelling of some of the earlier Known space tales from a very different viewpoint. Interesting but the main protagonist isn't as compelling as earlier heros.
