A wonderful story of compassion and humility beautifully told through the eyes of a rickshaw driver. One not to be missed!

Amal is a terrific movie which shows a side of India rarely seen in movies. The story is captivating and goes on to prove that happiness is not measured in dollars and cents (or rupees) but rather in contentment of the soul.

This movie is set in India, but financed and directed by Canadians. I understand the leading man, Rupinder Nagra has lived in Hamilton. A touching story where the hero, a mini taxi driver goes from one disastrous problem to another while at the same time set to inherit a lot of money from a passenger who was impressed with him. It has a sort of happy ending that is ironic and perhaps appropriate. The hero is the most likeable character, but the acting by many is done well.

I really enjoyed this film, seeing India through the eyes of the rich and through the eyes of the lower middle class. There is a beautiful message woven in. I would recommend this one.
