Add a CommentThe Sword of Waters is the second book in Hilari Bell's Shield, Sword, and Crown trilogy that follows three friends: Weasel, Arisa, and Edoran. Each book in the trilogy focuses on a different character; in this book the story is told from Arisa's point of view. She's a likable and admirable heroine who is very resourceful; she's been given the task of finding the Sword of Waters. I admit i was blindsided by the plot twist in this book! Unfortunately, unlike the Shield of Stars, the Sword of Waters does not stand alone, it has a cliffhanger ending that propels you into the third and final book to find out what happens once and for all.
I loved this trilogy; although there is not much magic in the series, (mostly hints and allusions, and a lot of folklore, mythology and possibility of magic) the development of the characters and the adventure and intrigue they go through in this story definitely satiates my appetite for a good book. YAY! I highly recommend reading the trilogy.
