A moving story of a first-year Harvard Law School student who comes to terms with his dreams in America's most competitive school. Hart finds he must survive much more than the pressures, all-night cramming and insecurities he expected. He becomes fearful of a brilliant professor, who terrorizes some, inspires others and who easily seperates the men from the boys.

Not as good as I remember it. Love John Houseman! Lindsay Wagner gives her usual plastic performance. Timothy Bottoms? I wonder whatever happened to him? All in all, a pleasant evening's viewing for a couple of old folks.

Good movie about the travails of a first year law student under a demanding prof. I actually liked the TV series more in some ways, but the movie is worth watching.

This is a 1973 drama directed by James Bridges, based on John Jay Osborn, Jr.'s 1970 novel of the same name.
It is about James Hart, a first-year law student at Harvard Law School, and his experiences with Professor Charles Kingsfield and his daughter.
It is an insightful, inspirational and thought-provoking story.

Classic early 70's movie. Holds up very well. Iconic performance by John Houseman as Professor Kingsfield.
