"Sad Cypress" is a great Agatha Christie novel with an interesting premise. The characters are likeable and the build-up to the crime is great. Afterwards, Poirot does his regular investigating and continues his trend of keeping important facts to himself. The denouement is also interesting because the solution is revealed through witnesses testifying during court and Poirot later reveals how he solved the crime first. Overall, "Sad Cypress" is a good detective novel and holds up well when compared to Christie's better works.
