So here you have Ruby, and from the outside she's just a regular girl. But no, she's got quite a bit on her mind as she goes to live with her distant sister. As usual, the characters fit in the frame nicely, with each having their own quirks and characteristics. However, this book just didn't stand out to me as much. I really like this author's newer books, for they seem more intriguing. But for her first few, these are okay enough.  I would probably recommend this book to anyone around 14, or 15 even. 3.5/5 - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This novel is about seventeen-year-old Ruby who is abandoned by her alcoholic mother and sent to be in her older sister Cora’s care. Cora left Ruby many years ago and now Ruby finds it hard to trust her, especially with her rich husband trying to force a close relationship between them. During this hard time, she meets Nate who becomes a friend after covering for her. As the plot progresses, she discovers some hidden truths about her broken family and starts to accept the new arrangement all while learning how to trust again. This novel is an absolute masterpiece and the message is heartwarming and meaningful. Although it is a long book, I was thoroughly hooked throughout the whole thing even though it is a young adult slice of life. The characters were relatable and enjoyable to read about. A great novel and a perfect read for the summer. Rating: 5/5. @Iron_Rose of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
