A disturbing movie with lots of fascinating meaningful moments. Although my friend thought the plot was contrived ("She would never do that,") I think the movie did an excellent job of showing what a normal human might do under the given circumstances. As a woman I was moved (and horrified) by the plight of Julianne Moore's character. One comment described her as both a hero and a coward. But coward is not an appropriate description--she is a woman with a kind heart with a high tolerance for enduring injustices...so when you see the culmination of her "leadership" (and the conflicting reaction to it), you may very well wonder if you would have done it her way...or the typical, angry & immediate Hollywood way where everyone makes life & death decisions without considering or even experiencing the normal consequences. I recommend this movie, but only if you are in a philosophical or "change the world" kind of mood.
